1D people counters are one of the most basic traffic counting technologies. It's a non-directional system, meaning it will increment a count for passing traffic regardless of traffic direction, requiring the user to divide the total number by two to determine the total entrance count.

TB12 SERIES PEOPLE COUNTERS

The TB12 Series wireless people counters use break-beam technology to detect passing traffic and increment a count each time the invisible infrared beam is broken. A transmitter and a receiver unit are mounted on either side of an entrance using brackets and are powered by batteries, making this solution wireless and easy to install. The TB12 Series includes two variations of wireless people counters based on your data retrieval preference.

These break-beam style sensors are typically used in applications where a general idea of traffic volume and patterns are acceptable. For manual data collection, the TB12-R system uses onboard data logging and an LCD display and can also be downloaded to a PC using the included USB cable.
